TL;DR
Lead Data Governance Architect (Data Governance/Data Architecture): Defining and driving enterprise data governance architecture, standards, policies, and operating models across a life sciences and biotechnology organization with an accent on data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, and master data management. Focus on designing target-state governance architecture, establishing ownership and stewardship models, and embedding governance requirements into data platforms, applications, analytics solutions, and transformation initiatives.
Location: Onsite in Kraków or remote from Poland. The role requires up to 15% domestic and international travel.

What you will do
- Define and drive enterprise data governance architecture and strategy.
- Design capabilities for data quality, metadata management, data cataloguing, data lineage, master data management, classification, and privacy.
- Establish data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and decision-making models.
- Develop target-state data governance and data management architecture aligned with enterprise architecture.
- Define standards for data domains, critical data elements, business glossaries, data models, data products, and data flows.
- Embed data governance requirements into platforms, applications, analytics solutions, and transformation initiatives.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data management, data architecture, data governance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data architecture and data management principles.
- Experience defining data governance policies, standards, controls, and procedures.
- Experience with one or more major cloud ecosystems, such as Azure, AWS, or Snowflake.
- Hands-on knowledge of data governance, data lineage, data privacy, data security, data ownership, and stewardship.
- Ability to work onsite in Kraków or remotely from Poland.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks such as GDPR or SOX.
- Experience with Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Informatica, Alation, or Atlan.
- Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, biotechnology, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
