Staff Bioinformatics Scientist (Oncology/MRD)

Location: Remote within the United States; requires meeting-time overlap with Pacific Time hours.

Salary: $155,600–$233,400 base annually.

What you will do

• Prototype novel NGS algorithms for clinical oncology use cases, including minimal residual disease detection.
• Develop algorithms for ctDNA analysis using small variant calling, copy number calling, fragmentomics, and methylation signals.
• Assess and improve secondary analysis algorithms for variant and biomarker detection.
• Design and analyze experiments with internal and external teams to support oncology assays.
• Provide technical guidance and communicate plans and results across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, plus 3+ years of industry experience.
• Fluency in at least two of statistics, common bioinformatics methods, NGS analysis, and oncology.
• Proven experience developing bioinformatics NGS algorithms beyond using existing tools.
• Strong programming skills in Python; C++ experience is desired.
• Good communication skills for cross-functional projects and stakeholder collaboration.
• Ability to work remotely within the United States and accommodate Pacific Time meeting hours.
