What you will do
- Build and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and data serving.
- Develop medallion-aligned bronze, silver, and gold data assets for sportsbook data.
- Transform bets, offers, rewards, pricing, settlements, and digital data into structured datasets.
- Implement reliable transformation logic using dbt, Spark, SQL-based frameworks, and orchestration tools.
- Contribute to Kafka, Flink, or equivalent streaming pipelines supporting near real-time use cases.
- Monitor and troubleshoot AWS pipelines while supporting data governance, metadata, documentation, and dataset discoverability.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modelling principles.
- Experience with dbt, Spark, Airflow, or similar data transformation and workflow orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, ideally AWS, and with ETL/ELT patterns.
- Awareness of data quality, testing, monitoring, data contracts, and schema design.
- Ability to work with stakeholders and deliver data solutions for analytics, trading, risk, personalisation, and machine learning.
Nice to have
- Experience or exposure to sports betting, trading, or financial data.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, semantic layers, or BI tooling.
- Exposure to data governance, metadata tooling, machine learning, or analytics workflows.
