Senior Data Scientist, Experimentation

What you will do

• Own the experimentation and measurement strategy for a product domain, from framing questions to reviewing decisions.
• Guide Product and Engineering teams with experimentation tooling, protocols, and best practices.
• Design experiments for low-traffic surfaces, shared supply, long-horizon or censored outcomes, and changes that cannot be cleanly randomised.
• Define metric frameworks, guardrails, proxy metrics, exposure definitions, and variance-reduction approaches.
• Use evidence to influence roadmap prioritisation and assess long-term platform health and growth.
• Review experiment designs and analyses, improve technical quality, and mentor less experienced data scientists.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in data science or a similar quantitative role supporting and influencing product organisations.
• Expertise in experimental design, variance reduction, causal inference, multi-arm bandits, and Bayesian methods.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience in statistical modelling, quasi-experimentation, regression, classification, and clustering.
• Ability to define and operationalise product and feature-level metrics and assess whether results are trustworthy.
• Experience improving experimentation practices across multiple teams through guidance, frameworks, tooling, automation, or AI.
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

Nice to have

• Experience with experimentation in marketplaces, e-commerce, travel platforms, or other high-scale products.
• Experience with interference, shared supply, heavy-tailed or infrequent metrics, proxy metrics, and long-horizon outcomes.
• Exposure to Bayesian approaches for low-traffic surfaces or small markets.
• Experience with Statsig, Eppo, GrowthBook, or an in-house experimentation platform.
• Experience applying AI or large language models to analytical workflows and experimentation quality.
