Senior Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week based in Porto, Portugal. Candidates must be based in Portugal and hold Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.

What you will do

• Define and govern enterprise-wide platform engineering standards, best practices, and reference architectures.
• Build and operate scalable CI/CD frameworks and developer platform capabilities.
• Design and operate Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud-native application environments.
• Build Internal Developer Platforms with Backstage and Crossplane, including Golden Paths, reusable templates, and self-service capabilities.
• Implement DevSecOps practices covering vulnerability management, secrets management, software supply chain security, policy-as-code, and compliance automation.
• Support multiple product and development teams in a large-scale AWS environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering.
• Strong experience with AWS and GitLab in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and Terraform for version control, configuration management, and deployment automation.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Backstage, Crossplane, enterprise platform standards, and Internal Developer Platforms.
• Fluent English at B2 level and availability for a hybrid schedule in Porto are required.
