TL;DR
Platform Engineer (Kubernetes): Building and operating unified engineering platforms and integrated PaaS capabilities for product teams with an accent on Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, automation, observability, and security. Focus on designing self-service tooling, managing container-based platforms, improving reliability and performance, and delivering platform services from architecture through production.

What you will do
- Build, operate, and maintain core capabilities and components of the Engineering Platform.
- Design automation, developer tooling, and self-service mechanisms that accelerate product delivery.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and container-based runtime platforms, including platform services, operators, and controllers.
- Build and operate CI/CD, observability, storage, networking, and database platform capabilities.
- Provide technical support and consultancy to product teams and incorporate their feedback into the platform roadmap.
- Lead platform initiatives, improve system reliability and performance, and contribute to architectural decisions.
Requirements
- Experience operating, automating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP, including system architecture and design.
- Expertise in at least one of storage, routing, cloud networking, organisation policy automation, or IAM.
- Programming experience with Go, Python, JVM-based languages, or similar modern languages.
- Experience with automation patterns, version control, Kubernetes deployments, and writing Kubernetes operators or controllers.
- Experience taking projects from design through production and working in multidisciplinary software delivery teams.
- Ability to understand business and customer needs, discuss requirements with stakeholders, and address security, compliance, and accessibility risks.
Nice to have
- Experience writing and maintaining applications that interface with the Kubernetes API.
- Strong experience with Go and idiomatic Go development practices.
- Experience with Kubernetes, KubeVela, GKE, EKS, Grafana LGTM, Sentry, OpenTelemetry, Concourse, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Ansible, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
- Experience building APIs and exposing platform components for human and machine consumption.
