Quality Lab Technician (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Bellevue, Ohio, USA; onsite. Supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation on a non-rotating Pitman shift: 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.

Salary: $21.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential.

What you will do

• Perform quality-control testing on raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, engineering trial products, expired products, and customer returns.
• Validate results, enter accurate data into SAP and quality systems, maintain quality records, and generate customer Certificates of Analysis.
• Identify non-conforming and engineering trial materials and communicate quality concerns to Production, Quality, and Engineering stakeholders.
• Maintain laboratory equipment through calibration, verification, cleaning, and preventive maintenance.
• Manage retained samples and laboratory supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
• Follow EHS and regulatory requirements and participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous laboratory experience and experience working in a controlled laboratory environment required.
• Ability to follow work instructions and testing procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate effectively.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment while wearing PPE.
• Ability to work onsite in Bellevue, Ohio, on a 12-hour day or night shift schedule.

Nice to have

• Associate degree, technical diploma, or coursework in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related scientific field.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with quality systems, Disciplined Process Improvement, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally.
