Junior SOC Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Phoenix, AZ, United States. Employment requires legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $28.00–$35.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Monitor and triage security alerts across EDR/SIEM, email security, and secure web gateway platforms.
• Perform initial phishing and email-threat analysis, including headers, links, and attachments, and coordinate remediation.
• Monitor DMARC, SPF, and DKIM posture and flag anomalies for follow-up.
• Document investigations, actions, and outcomes in the ticketing system.
• Support incident response through evidence collection, timeline building, and approved containment actions.
• Maintain security runbooks and participate in on-call or shift rotation, access reviews, and vulnerability-scan triage.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in security operations, IT, or helpdesk work with security exposure; internships and academic projects are considered.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and Windows and macOS internals.
• Basic understanding of phishing, malware, credential compromise, and detection and response concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and clear written communication for analyst and audit documentation.
• Exposure to an EDR or SIEM platform; CrowdStrike experience is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• CompTIA Security+ certification or active pursuit.
• Basic Python or PowerShell scripting for task automation.
• CySA+, GFACT, or equivalent coursework or certification in progress.
