Specialist Solutions Architect (Cloud Infrastructure & AWS Platform)

Location: Remote within the United States; willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.

Salary: $180,000–$247,500 USD annually, with potential performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Guide enterprise customers through the full lifecycle of Databricks deployments on AWS, from architecture through production.
• Design secure and scalable AWS environments using VPCs, PrivateLink, IAM, identity federation, and compliance controls.
• Build and maintain infrastructure automation with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Advise customers on platform administration, high availability, disaster recovery, observability, and cost management.
• Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, whiteboarding sessions, and competitive technical demonstrations.
• Coordinate cross-functional specialists and provide structured feedback to influence product direction.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role.
• Advanced expertise in AWS security, identity, enterprise networking, large-scale deployments, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong coding skills in Python and SQL, including live coding, debugging, and solution building.
• Experience designing distributed data systems, scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms.
• Proficiency with Databricks or the ability to become proficient quickly, plus strong communication with technical and executive stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Databricks or AWS certifications.
• Experience with Snowflake, AWS native services, or Azure Synapse.
• Background in a data, AI, or cloud provider organization.
