Senior Data Architect - Databricks Platform (Databricks)

Location: Argentina; 100% remote. Up to 25% travel may be required depending on business needs.

What you will do

• Lead architecture for enterprise-scale Databricks data platforms, workspace consolidation, permission models, and configuration-as-code patterns.
• Design high-volume batch and real-time streaming pipelines with PySpark and Structured Streaming.
• Integrate Databricks Unity Catalog with metadata repositories such as AWS Glue Catalog and Snowflake Horizon.
• Implement ConfigOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, governance guardrails, certified data products, semantic layers, and lineage.
• Ensure scalability, security, cost efficiency, and production readiness across AWS and Databricks environments.
• Communicate architectural decisions, create roadmaps and documentation, and guide client and delivery teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, or architecture roles.
• At least 3 years designing cloud-based data solutions, working with AWS data services, and using Databricks hands-on.
• Experience with modern data platform architecture, lakehouse patterns, Unity Catalog, Spark, Delta Lake, orchestration, governance, and access controls.
• Expertise in distributed processing, streaming, database migration and modernization, OLTP/OLAP design, schema evolution, HA/DR, security, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Terraform, infrastructure automation, FinOps, cost estimation, and cloud-native database architecture.
• Advanced English at C1 level and current legal authorization to work in Argentina are required. Visa and work permit sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience building agent-driven or self-service data platform capabilities.
• Background in mentoring delivery teams and facilitating discussions with business and technical stakeholders.
