Senior Data Architect - Databricks Platform (Databricks)

Location: Argentina; 100% remote work from home or a shared workspace. Up to 25% travel may be required depending on business needs.

What you will do

• Lead architectural design for Databricks-based data platforms and modernization programs, including workspace consolidation, access models, and configuration-as-code.
• Design high-volume batch and real-time streaming pipelines with PySpark and Structured Streaming.
• Integrate Databricks Unity Catalog with third-party metadata repositories such as AWS Glue Catalog and Snowflake Horizon.
• Build ConfigOps, CI/CD, automation, governance guardrails, certified data products, semantic layers, and lineage capabilities.
• Ensure scalability, security, cost efficiency, and production readiness of platform components.
• Communicate architecture decisions, create documentation and roadmaps, and work directly with client business and engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, or architecture roles.
• 3+ years designing cloud-based data solutions and working in the AWS data landscape.
• 3+ years of hands-on Databricks experience, including Unity Catalog, lakehouse patterns, orchestration, governance, Spark tuning, clusters, and Delta Lake.
• Experience with modern data platform architecture, distributed processing, streaming, cloud-native databases, security, networking, and automation.
• Experience with Terraform, migration and modernization strategies, schema evolution, HA/DR, cutover planning, risk mitigation, and FinOps-oriented design.
• Advanced English, minimum C1, is required.
