Program Director - Pollution Prevention Partnership and AutoCheck (Environmental Programs)

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; onsite program and outdoor emissions-testing duties

What you will do

• Direct the Pollution Prevention Partnership and AutoCheck programs, including strategic planning, staffing, program operations, and contract deliverables.
• Design solutions for local and regional air-quality issues and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, community members, officials, and funding partners.
• Write grants, applications, work plans, reports, and responses to Requests for Proposals; track program activities, environmental impacts, budgets, income, expenses, and deliverables.
• Coordinate and deliver the AutoCheck Clean Fleet program, including outdoor emissions-testing sessions, event logistics, data collection, and reporting.
• Recruit, hire, and train student workers and interns; support faculty and staff with proposal development and research engagement.
• Maintain program websites, support basic information technology resources, and evaluate, purchase, operate, and maintain environmental equipment and software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field and 10 years of related experience; alternatively, a relevant master’s degree with 8 years or a doctoral degree with 6 years of related experience.
• Experience in program administration, environmental or community engagement programming, grants and contracts, research support, sponsored projects, or related program operations.
• Experience developing and reporting on program activities, work plans, deliverables, budgets, and funding-source requirements.
• Experience writing grants, reports, work plans, or responses to Requests for Proposals and working with external stakeholders and funding partners.
• Experience coordinating outreach, data collection, reporting, event logistics, research engagement, or proposal development.
• Valid driver’s license required; the role includes operating university vehicles or machinery and conducting outdoor testing events.

Nice to have

• Experience sustaining or growing externally funded programs through continuation funding, sponsor reporting, and responses to Requests for Proposals.
• Experience preparing environmental impact summaries, activity reports, financial updates, and deliverable reports.
• Experience maintaining public-facing program websites or digital resources.
• Experience working with public officials, community members, and environmental or research program partners.
