Field Compression Engineer (Natural Gas Compression)

Location: Onsite in Malvern, Arkansas; Texarkana, Arkansas; or West Monroe, Louisiana, with travel throughout Northeast Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Travel may reach 50% and often involves overnight stays.

What you will do

• Provide technical expertise for mechanical needs involving natural gas compression and ancillary equipment.
• Specify compression equipment based on operating conditions, performance, reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost requirements.
• Support the reliability and improvement of reciprocating engines, compressors, gas turbines, electric motor drives, and centrifugal compressors.
• Work with Operations on annual budgets and establish relationships with equipment vendors.
• Travel to contractor and hirify.global sites for mechanical support, meetings, and conferences.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, control, instrumentation, flow, cause-and-effect, and P&ID drawings.

Requirements

• Four-year engineering degree from an accredited school.
• Preferred two years of post-degree practical experience in the design and technical analysis of high-pressure natural gas compressor systems.
• Knowledge of natural gas compression equipment and mechanical design for reciprocating engines, gas turbines, electric motor drives, reciprocating compressors, and centrifugal compressors.
• Experience or knowledge of compressor station design and basic engineering skills.
• Basic proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Valid driver's license, ability to meet company insurability requirements, and ability to work in field conditions, including lifting equipment and exposure to heights, rough roads, low-light areas, and extreme weather.
