Senior Mechanical Engineer (Tooling Manager)

Location: Hybrid, based out of Taipei, Taiwan; international travel of up to 25% required.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and validation of manufacturing tools and processes for PCIe cards, multi-chip server assemblies, and thermal and mechanical modules.
• Drive tooling programs from concept through fabrication, commissioning, validation, and mass production.
• Ensure precision, manufacturability, repeatability, and alignment with product requirements.
• Work with mechanical and PCB engineering teams, suppliers, and manufacturing sites to deliver scalable tooling solutions.
• Manage tooling documentation, supplier deliverables, validation activities, and lifecycle improvement initiatives.
• Improve production yield, quality, cost, capacity, and efficiency across manufacturing operations.

Requirements

• Experience as a tooling or manufacturing engineer taking hardware programs from concept through validation and mass production.
• Expertise in injection molding, die casting, sheet metal stamping, progressive die design, tooling fabrication, commissioning, and validation.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, tool validation, capacity studies, process capability analysis, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Proficiency with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and familiarity with PLM systems.
• Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills required.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Moldflow, Minitab, DOE, Gage R&R, or other Six Sigma tools.
• Experience managing international suppliers and offshore tooling projects.
