Clinical Nurse (Cardiology Stepdown/Coronary Care Unit)

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, IL; onsite night shift

Salary: USD 36.50–58.40 per hour

What you will do

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent, evidence-based nursing care for assigned cardiology stepdown and coronary care patients.
• Develop individualized, age-specific and culturally sensitive plans of care using the nursing process.
• Assess patient needs, implement nursing interventions, evaluate outcomes, and document care in the health record.
• Advocate for patients, protect their safety and rights, and educate patients and families.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and multidisciplinary hospital services.
• Support clinical education, mentoring, quality improvement, shared leadership, and safe unit operations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN-accredited school or college of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher.
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• Basic Life Support CPR certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Analytical ability, strong oral, listening, and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate in difficult situations.
• Ability to use a keyboard to enter or retrieve data.

Nice to have

• Experience in the relevant clinical area.
• Nursing specialty certification, when eligible.
