Client Office Phlebotomist Float-Part-time Days KD

Location: Various client sites in Des Plaines, Glenview, and Elmhurst, Illinois, United States. Onsite float work across multiple locations, including travel to additional sites when needed.

Salary: $20.25–$27.34 per hour, including float differential compensation.

What you will do

• Perform phlebotomy and collect blood and other laboratory specimens from infant, adult, geriatric, wheelchair-bound, and other patients.
• Identify patients correctly, provide post-phlebotomy care, and escalate medical assistance needs when appropriate.
• Label, process, transfer, and track specimens according to laboratory protocols, including manual requisitions and computerized test orders.
• Monitor refrigerator temperatures and quality-control records, document corrective actions, and report equipment or specimen issues.
• Coordinate timed draws, outstanding orders, charges, results, and follow-up communications with laboratory, physician, and client office staff.
• Travel between assigned client sites and complete related clerical, filing, faxing, printing, and laboratory-result duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, or at least one year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work Monday in Des Plaines, Tuesday and Friday in Elmhurst, Thursday in Glenview, and every other Saturday; flexibility is required for earlier or later client appointments.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy across a broad range of patient types and maintain patient-safety and identification standards.
• Ability to work 32 hours per week on a part-time daytime schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience processing and transferring laboratory specimens and operating a centrifuge.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
