Client Office Phlebotomist FLOAT-Part-time Days DD (Medtech)

Location: Various client sites in Lansing, Eaton Rapids, and Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States; travel between additional sites may be required.

Salary: $20.25–$27.34 per hour, including float differential compensation.

What you will do

• Perform phlebotomy and laboratory specimen collection for infant, adult, geriatric, and wheelchair-bound patients.
• Provide post-phlebotomy care, verify patient identifiers, and respond appropriately to medical assistance needs.
• Label, process, transfer, and track specimens, requisitions, orders, test results, and related documentation.
• Monitor refrigerator temperatures and quality-control records, report issues, and maintain equipment used for specimen collection.
• Communicate with patients, client office staff, laboratory personnel, physicians, and coworkers about orders, draws, results, and specimen issues.
• Travel to client sites and additional locations as needed while managing schedules and completing work independently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Nationally recognized phlebotomy certification, phlebotomy school or medical institution training, or at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to collect specimens from patients across different age groups and demonstrate age-specific competency.
• Ability to travel to client sites in Lansing, Grand Rapids, and the Eaton Rapids area; a valid driver's license and auto insurance are preferred.
• Ability to work part-time, 32 hours per week, with flexibility for clients that start earlier or finish later than posted hours.
• Ability to follow patient-safety, regulatory, quality-control, and specimen-processing procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience processing and transferring laboratory specimens and operating a centrifuge.
• Experience performing phlebotomy on a broad range of patient types.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
