Respiratory Care Practitioner I (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Administer respiratory care to acutely ill adult patients across medical-surgical, emergency, and critical care units.
• Implement respiratory protocols, deliver ordered therapies, and assess patient responses.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions to healthcare professionals.
• Respond to clinical emergencies and participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory disease management and available resources.
• Support students and colleagues through precepting, teamwork, and adherence to professional standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Active or pending Illinois Respiratory Care License required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Onsite work at the Chicago hospital location is required.
