Nurse Clinician, Oncology Urgent Care, Full-Time, Days

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, IL, United States; onsite day shift

Salary: USD 34.50–55.20 per hour

What you will do

• Assess patients by phone and in person, identify care needs, document findings, and implement nursing interventions.
• Provide pre-attending care, triage incoming calls, prioritize patient needs, and coordinate care with physicians and clinical and administrative departments.
• Perform nursing procedures including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital-sign measurement, and laboratory specimen preparation.
• Perform complex specialty procedures, including conscious sedation, chemotherapy administration, implantable pain-pump adjustments, and wound excision and drainage.
• Manage urgent and emergent medical situations, operate emergency equipment, and follow medical emergency and cardiac arrest protocols.
• Initiate patient education, support staff education, and contribute to community and specialty-related educational programs.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Nursing and graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Basic CPR certification.
• At least two years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment.
• Ability to collaborate with patients, physicians, clinical teams, and administrative departments.
