What you will do
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures for female reproductive anatomy and fetal structures according to clinical and industry standards.
- Assess examination requests and patients to determine appropriate protocols, methods, and equipment use.
- Generate high-quality ultrasound images while limiting patient exposure and maintaining technical standards.
- Educate patients before, during, and after procedures to improve comfort and reduce anxiety.
- Communicate pertinent findings and observations to physicians to support diagnosis and treatment management.
- Document procedures, transmit images to PACS, maintain supplies, and report equipment issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited medical sonography program.
- ARDMS certification and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification are required.
- At least two years of sonography experience in a Maternal Fetal Medicine practice is required.
- Technical competency in the relevant specialty and experience with diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
- Fetal Medicine Foundation certification in Nuchal Translucency, Nasal Bone, Tricuspid Flow, and Ductus Venosus is required within the first six months of employment.
- Maintain education, training, and experience consistent with AIUM site certification requirements.
Nice to have
- Associate or bachelor's degree.
- Three or more years of experience.
- Fetal Echo certification or other specialty-relevant certifications.
- ARDMS Obstetrics and Gynecology certification is strongly preferred.
