Senior Automation Test Engineer (Playwright/Cucumber)

Location: 100% remote within the continental United States. Standard business hours align with the Eastern Time Zone; occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.

Salary: $85,000–$130,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and execute system-level, functional, performance, integration, and acceptance testing in an Agile environment.
• Build, scale, and maintain automated testing frameworks with Playwright and Cucumber for web applications and APIs.
• Create test plans, cases, scripts, schedules, traceability artifacts, and pass/fail criteria from system requirements.
• Provision and maintain Linux infrastructure, staging servers, distributed execution nodes, and dedicated test environments.
• Deploy headless automated suites, collect test artifacts and reports, analyze defects and risks, and communicate results to technical and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, business analysts, and requirements personnel during design reviews, verification, and test readiness activities.

Requirements

• Must reside in the continental United States and be eligible for employment in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field and 7+ years of professional test engineering experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; United States citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
• Advanced automation testing experience with Playwright, Cucumber, Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, or comparable tools.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, API testing, Postman, Rest-Assured, SQL, RESTful APIs, Linux, and Bash scripting.
• Strong knowledge of test planning, end-to-end testing, quality assurance, networking, server configuration, DevOps, and continuous integration tools.

Nice to have

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Jenkins, Maven, Git, GitHub, Jira, Zephyr, Bitbucket, JMeter, or LoadRunner.
• Experience with AngularJS, jQuery, D3, HTML5, and CSS3.
