Manager, Lease Operations Technical Accounting

Location: Dallas, TX, United States. The role is associated with office and data center locations and requires access to export-controlled information.

Base salary: $115,000–$153,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits based on eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior accountants responsible for lease accounting.
• Oversee the identification and evaluation of embedded leases in Network Service Agreements and other complex contracts.
• Direct lease accounting under ASC 842, including initial recognition, remeasurement, and modification analysis.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and review lease-related balance sheet and P&L analytics.
• Partner with Legal, FP&A, Operations, and Treasury on lease transactions, amendments, and new structures.
• Build scalable processes and controls, manage external auditor relationships, and support lease disclosures under US GAAP.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with substantial lease or technical accounting experience.
• Deep knowledge of ASC 842 and experience applying it to complex contract structures, including data center, colocation, or similar service agreements.
• Experience managing or mentoring accounting professionals.
• CPA required or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for presenting technical accounting conclusions to senior finance leaders and auditors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and proficiency with ERP and lease accounting software such as CoStar or NetSuite.

Nice to have

• Public accounting experience at a Big 4 or large regional firm.
• Experience with complex lease structures, sale-leaseback transactions, or related technical accounting areas.
• Background in technology, cloud infrastructure, data center, or real estate industries.
• Advanced degree.
