Quality Inspection Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Belfast, County Antrim, United Kingdom. Onsite work across warehouse and factory environments; shift is 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with some overtime possible.

What you will do

• Perform and document first article, receiving, in-process, and final inspections against drawings, specifications, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Read blueprints and technical specifications; measure dimensions and evaluate functionality using CMMs, micrometers, gauges, calipers, and other inspection equipment.
• Prepare inspection reports, performance records, system transactions, and documentation for Material Review Board processes.
• Identify, escalate, investigate, and help resolve supplier, production, quality, and process issues.
• Support calibration scheduling and maintain calibration standards, traceability, accuracy, and environmental controls.
• Support PPAP activities, maintain manufacturing work instructions, and collaborate with warehouse, production, operations, and quality teams.

Requirements

• 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at grade C or above, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of quality assurance, inspection, or calibration experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of metrology, measurement methods, calibration practices, ISO and NIST requirements, and GD&T.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings and use inspection and measurement equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word; 2+ years of Oracle experience or equivalent preferred.
• Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and self-motivation skills, with a commitment to safe work practices.

Nice to have

• Technical qualification in engineering, manufacturing, quality, calibration, or a related discipline, such as HND, HNC, or BTEC.
• Calibration Technician or Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory technician certification.
• Knowledge of Lean production flow concepts.
