Operator III, Distribution (Warehouse Operations)

Location: On-site in Ames, Iowa, United States; the conditions section also lists Romeoville, Illinois, United States. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:15 p.m.–1:45 a.m.

Salary: $23.00 per hour, plus a $2 shift differential. The role may also be eligible for bonus pay.

What you will do

• Retrieve, stock, pick, verify, and consolidate materials in a high-bay warehouse to fulfill customer orders.
• Pack and ship hazardous and non-hazardous products according to pick tickets, regulations, and standard work.
• Move materials using manual and powered handling equipment, including equipment used in high-bay locations.
• Perform computer transactions, maintain inventory accuracy, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Store raw chemicals according to storage regulations and maintain FIFO material flow.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and train others in material-handling practices when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of related warehouse experience preferred.
• Two or more years of experience using powered warehouse equipment preferred.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with chemical products, moving equipment, fumes, dust, gases, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Required to wear appropriate PPE, which may include eye, hearing, respiratory, and hand protection, protective clothing, steel-toe shoes, hard hats, and face shields.
