Senior Commercial Insurance Specialist (AI)

Location: In-office in San Francisco, Atlanta, or New York City; relocation is possible. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–8 PM ET.

Salary: $110,000–$150,000 per year, plus performance bonuses and equity.

What you will do

• Own complex commercial accounts and difficult customer situations from intake through resolution.
• Partner with underwriters and wholesalers to place hard risks, remarket renewals, and find coverage for businesses standard markets will not write.
• Guide customers through premium audits, payroll and sales verification, inspections, coverage questions, and policy changes.
• Handle E&S and surplus lines placements, including eligibility, filings, taxes, binding packets, and required documentation.
• Manage premium finance, payment, cancellation, and coverage-continuation situations.
• Build carrier relationships, create service playbooks, train the service team, and advise Product and Engineering on automation opportunities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial lines underwriting, account executive, wholesale brokerage, or carrier-side roles.
• Active property and casualty license; non-resident and reciprocal licensing is supported across all 50 states.
• Existing relationships with carriers, underwriters, and wholesalers.
• Track record of owning complex commercial cases end to end.
• Comfort working with technology and providing product feedback from daily use of a service workbench.
• Must be based in San Francisco, Atlanta, or New York City, or willing to relocate; this is an in-office role.

Nice to have

• Surplus lines license and E&S experience.
• Premium finance expertise, including PFAs, reconciliation, defaults, and cancellation reversals.
• Workers’ compensation, class-code, or NCCI audit-dispute expertise.
• Wholesaler, MGA, carrier underwriting-desk, insurtech, or tech-forward brokerage experience.
