TL;DR
EHS Engineer (Industrial Safety/Environmental Compliance): Ensuring EHS regulatory compliance and improving safety, environmental, and sustainability programs at Pfizer’s Singapore manufacturing site with an accent on risk assessment, incident prevention, hazardous waste management, and emergency preparedness. Focus on conducting audits and workplace inspections, investigating incidents, managing corrective actions, and coordinating compliance activities with contractors and regulatory agencies.
Location: Singapore – Tuas; on-premise

What you will do
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations, permits, licenses, company policies, and management system requirements.
- Implement and improve EHS programs, site compliance initiatives, and sustainability objectives.
- Conduct inspections, safety tours, audits, risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses, environmental evaluations, and Permit-to-Work reviews.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, hazardous observations, and environmental events, tracking corrective and preventive actions to closure.
- Manage EHS documentation, training records, compliance registers, emergency response plans, and regulatory reporting.
- Support hazardous waste and chemical management, spill prevention, emissions monitoring, emergency drills, facility changes, contractor coordination, and safety culture initiatives.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree with any years of experience, or an associate degree with 4+ years of experience, or a high school diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in industrial safety, particularly in manufacturing facilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good knowledge of computer operations and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to conduct local Environment, Health & Safety training.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of risk assessment processes and suitable risk controls.
- Experience developing cost-effective corrective actions and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, including responsible AI, risk management, and ethical use.
