Assistant Manager / Manager, Data Scientist (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and enhance predictive models, pricing solutions, recommendation engines, and automation tools for banking products and services.
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and features that improve model performance and business outcomes.
• Support machine learning model deployment and contribute to MLOps practices, including versioning, monitoring, and performance management.
• Explore Generative AI and NLP solutions, including large language models, sentiment analysis, and automated document processing.
• Perform feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, model validation, and bias assessment.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Risk, and other business teams while developing dashboards and visualizations to communicate analytical findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another relevant quantitative discipline.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience using Scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Practical experience with Spark, PySpark, or other big data technologies.
• Familiarity with AWS SageMaker or Google Cloud Vertex AI, plus MLOps tools and practices such as MLflow and Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into practical solutions. Candidates with less experience may be considered for the Assistant Manager level.

Nice to have

• Experience in digital banking, virtual banking, or fintech, especially credit scoring, fraud detection, pricing, customer analytics, or customer lifetime value.
• Experience leading workflow automation, digital transformation, operational excellence, system enhancement, or UAT initiatives.
• Experience with capacity planning, productivity management, workforce optimization, or cross-border team management.
• Experience using AI-powered productivity tools, workflow automation platforms, data analytics solutions, or other emerging technologies.
