Veterinary Assistant

Location: Onsite positions in Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Denver, and Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Salary: $15.62–$23.55 per hour

What you will do

• Support veterinarians and the practice team in delivering proficient veterinary care and a positive client experience.
• Assist with laboratory, radiology, anesthesia, dental, and other medical equipment and procedures.
• Communicate patient updates clearly with veterinarians and other team members.
• Use the practice information management system and support colleagues with related technology.
• Review invoices, process client payments, maintain controlled-substance logs, and support inventory management.
• Follow clinical standards and procedures, clean workspaces, and complete required training and compliance courses.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a veterinary practice.
• Experience in veterinary medicine and the ability to complete the Veterinary Assistant skills checklist.
• Completion of an accredited veterinary assistant program is preferred.
• Strong communication, observation, analytical, empathy, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle animal bodily fluids and tissues.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 80% of a shift and lift up to 50–70 pounds with team assistance.
