Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Remote across Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, and Peru, aligned to the client's working day and United States time zones.

What you will do

• Translate client business decisions into measurable questions, success criteria, baselines, and actionable improvements.
• Select, train, and validate supervised and unsupervised models, including CNNs and Transformers with PyTorch.
• Adapt pretrained and open-weight models using LoRA, QLoRA, or PEFT when appropriate.
• Design holdouts, offline and online evaluations, and experiments with clear uncertainty reporting.
• Perform error analysis across data, labels, methods, and problem framing.
• Package, document, and hand over models with metrics that define ongoing performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and validating models against real decisions, with Python as the primary language.
• Strong machine learning and deep learning experience, including supervised and unsupervised methods, CNNs, Transformers, PyTorch or an equivalent framework, training, custom modules, and optimization.
• Expertise in pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, statistics, experimental design, baselines, holdouts, and significance testing.
• Experience with cloud platforms and AI services such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Amazon SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, or Azure Machine Learning.
• Active use of AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in delivery work.
• Clear written and spoken English at C1 level or above, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs directly to clients.

Nice to have

• LLM evaluation, open-weight fine-tuning, multimodal systems, causal inference, uplift modeling, or forecasting at scale.
• MLflow, Weights & Biases, Kubeflow, or similar experiment tracking and MLOps tools.
• Experience delivering under SOC 2 or HIPAA compliance requirements.
• Open-source contributions, published research, technical writing, or active AI community participation.
