Staff Accountant (Banking)

What you will do

• Prepare journal entries and monthly financial statements using general ledger accounting software.
• Reconcile general ledger, clearing, and suspense accounts and complete monthly closing procedures.
• Research unusual transactions and resolve complex accounting discrepancies.
• Apply GAAP to cost allocation and financial statement preparation.
• Respond to internal and external auditor issues and recommend process improvements.
• Assist with training and communicate accounting information to management and internal departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
• 7–12 months of general work experience.
• Knowledge of advanced accounting concepts, accrual accounting, GAAP, and accounting software.
• Experience reviewing and analyzing financial statements and resolving unusual transactions or accounting discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Ability to make independent decisions, solve complex accounting problems, and manage multiple detailed assignments.
