Senior Security Engineer - Detection & Response

Location: London, UK. The role may require up to 10% travel for onboarding, client or partner work, team meetings, and industry events.

What you will do

• Develop, test, and deploy high-fidelity rule-based and anomaly-based detections-as-code.
• Detect and respond to cyber threats using security data lakes, SIEM solutions, and cloud platforms.
• Lead alert triage, incident response investigations, threat hunting, and digital forensic evidence collection and analysis.
• Automate and codify detection and response workflows, pipelines, and supporting security tooling.
• Develop AI-first security systems and support data engineering workflows for security data platforms.
• Participate in detection and response on-call rotations and coach other security engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on security experience in modern cloud environments.
• Experience with cyber threat triage and response, large-scale log analysis, incident response, or digital forensics.
• Experience with centralized security data lakes, SIEM solutions, detections-as-code, and large-scale data pipelines.
• Strong data querying skills, including SQL or Splunk, and programming experience with Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, CI/CD automation, threat actor tactics and procedures, and security on-call rotations.
• Strong communication skills, continuous-learning mindset, and an engineering-first, AI-first approach.
