TL;DR
Director, Project & Portfolio Management, Biosurgery (MedTech): Leading cross-functional medical device and biologics innovation programs for MedTech Surgery with an accent on portfolio governance, product delivery, and regulatory and clinical requirements. Focus on managing Project Heads, resolving time-scope-resource trade-offs, mitigating program risks, and driving execution across R&D, marketing, regulatory, clinical, supply chain, quality, and finance.

Location: Hybrid in Raritan, New Jersey, United States; 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $164,000–$282,900 base pay annually.

What you will do

  • Manage Project Heads supporting Biosurgery innovation and new product development programs.
  • Lead execution, tracking, acceleration, risk identification, and mitigation across the Biosurgery portfolio.
  • Serve on the Biosurgery R&D Leadership Team and act as a governance escalation point.
  • Lead portfolio reviews, management reviews, scenario development, trade-off analysis, and improvement planning.
  • Establish governance processes, meeting cadence, decision-making standards, and follow-through on action items.
  • Partner with R&D, marketing, regulatory, clinical, supply chain, quality, and finance stakeholders to align programs with platform and portfolio strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree such as an MBA or MS is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience and prior innovation program delivery experience.
  • Project management experience involving materials, biologics, or clinical programs.
  • Understanding of global regulatory and clinical requirements for complex Class II and Class III medical devices.
  • Demonstrated success influencing across a matrix organization, leading change, and managing people.
  • MS Office experience is required; JIRA or SmartSheet experience is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Strong technical expertise and business acumen in strategic planning and execution.
  • Experience with JIRA or SmartSheet.
