Production Technology Development Engineering Manager (AI Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Pueblo, Colorado, United States. Travel up to 15% within the continental United States.

Base salary: $145,000–$170,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary Production Technology Development engineering team across AI manufacturing, mechatronics, automation and controls, production software, and databases.
• Own AI-driven manufacturing systems and mechatronics solutions, including machine vision inspection, predictive process control, anomaly detection, adaptive manufacturing, and integrated production equipment.
• Oversee PLC programming, robotic cell integration, HMI/SCADA systems, manufacturing execution logic, process-control applications, and equipment interfaces.
• Own production database architecture and data infrastructure for traceability, quality metrics, process data, and operational KPIs.
• Translate production requirements into technology roadmaps and manage delivery across Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Compliance.
• Ensure systems are production-ready, scalable, supportable, and compliant with applicable safety and industrial standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline with 8 years of experience, a master’s degree with 6 years of experience, or 15 years of equivalent hands-on production technology and engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience leading and developing engineering teams across multiple disciplines.
• Hands-on experience in at least two PTD disciplines, including AI or machine learning for manufacturing, mechatronics, industrial automation and controls, production software, or production databases and data infrastructure.
• Experience with production software or database development and proficiency in relevant technologies such as Python, C/C++, C#, structured text, or SQL.
• Experience working within rigorous safety and regulatory environments, including OSHA, ITAR, and hazardous or energetic materials standards.
• Must be onsite in Pueblo, Colorado, and meet U.S. person eligibility requirements for ITAR-regulated technology.

Nice to have

• Experience with energetic materials, solid rocket motor manufacturing, explosives, or hazardous or classified manufacturing environments.
• Experience building digital manufacturing platforms, MES, or Industrial IoT architectures.
