Clinical Senior Lecturer - Academic Lead for Year 5 MBChB (Medical Education)

What you will do

• Lead the Year 5 academic team within the MBChB Programme Teaching and Learning Academic Team.
• Supervise associate academic leads and clinical education campus academic leads.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the Year 5 programme.
• Ensure learning content is appropriately assessed and updated by academic staff.
• Contribute to the Year 5 amendment group and assessment team.
• Work with clinical tutors and administrative staff across clinical education campuses.

Requirements

• Practising physician or surgeon with a primary medical qualification and registration on the UK specialist or GP register.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in the relevant specialty.
• Understanding of local health services and their relationship to undergraduate medical education.
• Commitment to and enthusiasm for undergraduate medical education.
• Evidence of leadership and involvement in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in an educational setting.

Nice to have

• Current clinical appointment with a Manchester Medical School clinical education partner or a clinical academic appointment at consultant level or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the Manchester MBChB structure, outcomes, and GMC requirements for undergraduate medical education.
• Experience in clinical leadership, experiential learning, curriculum design, or curriculum implementation.
• Postgraduate qualification in medical education, such as a PG Certificate or higher.
