Clinical Senior Lecturer (Year 4 Ophthalmology Block Lead, MBChB)

What you will do

• Work with the Year 4 Lead and Associate Lead to support successful delivery of the MBChB programme.
• Lead the academic content and learning materials for Ophthalmology in Year 4.
• Support equitable learning outcomes for all Year 4 students.
• Provide teaching resources and liaise with clinical placement supervisors across delivery sites.
• Work with the assessment team to map assessment materials accurately to taught content.

Requirements

• Practising physician or surgeon with a primary medical qualification on the specialist register.
• Current Ophthalmology Clinical Placement Supervisor for a Clinical Education Provider delivering the Manchester MBChB Programme.
• Leadership experience and a track record in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education.
• Understanding of, or commitment to developing knowledge of, medical education theory through continuing professional development.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and change-management skills.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate qualification in Medical Education, such as a PgCert, Diploma or MSc.
• Experience with medical education processes.
• Successful implementation of organisational change and quality improvement.
