Head of Innovation & Partnering China, Advanced Synthesis (synthetic chemistry/bioconjugation): Leading innovation strategy, scientific capabilities, and external partnerships for the Nansha R&D organization with an accent on synthetic chemistry, bioconjugation, automation, digital technologies, and data science. Focus on building the innovation pipeline, evaluating differentiated technologies, allocating resources, and developing multidisciplinary teams and strategic partnerships.

What you will do
- Lead the innovation agenda and Nansha R&D organization in China.
- Define and execute the local innovation strategy in alignment with global R&D and Advanced Synthesis priorities.
- Own the innovation pipeline from opportunity identification through execution, including prioritization, governance, resource allocation, and planning.
- Advance synthetic chemistry, bioconjugation, automation, digital technologies, data science, and modeling capabilities.
- Build partnerships with customers, academia, technology providers, and scientific networks.
- Develop a high-performing innovation organization and collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and global R&D teams on new services and business models.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent advanced qualification in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CDMO industry, including strong pharmaceutical development and synthetic chemistry expertise.
- Experience developing innovation strategies, executable programs, R&D pipelines, scientific governance, and technology evaluations.
- Proven success building external partnerships and developing differentiated technologies and services.
- Leadership experience with multidisciplinary scientific teams, organizational transformation, talent development, capability building, and succession planning.
- Business-fluent English is required.
