Senior Test Engineer (USV)

Location: Nootdorp, Netherlands. Practical, site-based role with flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home in accordance with management and corporate policies. Regular international travel, irregular hours, and occasional weekend work may be required for supplier testing, trials, and commissioning.

What you will do

• Review technical requirements, supplier FAT evidence, acceptance criteria, test procedures, and prerequisites before execution.
• Provide technical leadership during component FAT, integration testing, harbour acceptance testing, commissioning, and SAT activities.
• Configure vessel and mission systems, support calibration and technical test equipment, and record objective evidence in TestRail.
• Lead fault finding across mechanical, electrical, automation, software, communication, and cross-system integration issues.
• Reproduce faults, collect data, support root-cause analysis, and verify closure through controlled retesting.
• Maintain configuration, software, parameter, and calibration information while improving test methods and coaching Test Engineers.

Requirements

• HBO/Bachelor level in a relevant maritime or technical discipline, or MBO 4 with substantial practical experience.
• At least seven years of hands-on experience in vessel testing, commissioning, field service, shipyard integration, or a comparable technical environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of integrated vessel systems, USV technology, automation, software, communications, and technical interfaces.
• Experience with troubleshooting, configuration control, calibration, test evidence, QA/QC, QHSSE, and class or statutory requirements.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel internationally for supplier testing, trials, and commissioning support.
• Excellent English required; Dutch is preferred but not mandatory.

Nice to have

• VCA, maritime, electrical, commissioning, or offshore qualifications.
• Experience providing technical guidance to engineers, technicians, and specialists.
