Observability Engineer with New Relic

What you will do

• Build New Relic dashboards and NRQL queries for observability and cost tracking.
• Create consolidated cross-tenant dashboards covering agent health, costs, and estate overviews.
• Implement cost and token usage metrics for GenAI and compute workloads.
• Derive governed, reusable aggregate metrics from raw telemetry and maintain metric lineage.
• Separate technical and business observability through derivation, replication, and linkage.
• Maintain clean metric facets with consistent, low-cardinality dimensions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in observability engineering.
• Experience implementing dashboards and cost metrics with New Relic or an equivalent SaaS observability platform.
• Experience translating raw telemetry into governed and reusable aggregate metrics.
• Hands-on experience with observability data and metric design.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the New Relic Metric API and Firehose ingestion.
• Experience with AWS cost allocation, including Cost Explorer, tagging, and per-account attribution.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry GenAI semantic conventions, including gen_ai.* and pmi.agent.*.
• Experience feeding a downstream BI or analytics data product.
