Senior SDET – Data (Machine Learning)

Location: Remote within the U.S., excluding U.S. territories. Core meeting hours are 9 AM–2 PM Pacific time. Occasional travel may be requested but is not required.

Salary: $198,000–$281,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable automated testing frameworks for data pipelines, distributed processing workflows, and machine learning models.
• Develop testing strategies covering data quality, schema integrity, data drift, model accuracy, bias, and regression.
• Validate large-scale data systems for accuracy, reliability, performance, and resilience.
• Embed quality and continuous validation across software development and deployment processes.
• Investigate production data and model failures, identify root causes, and support effective resolutions.
• Mentor junior SDETs and contribute to testing standards and quality engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Typically 6–8 years of software testing experience, including at least 3 years focused on data platforms or machine learning testing.
• Strong programming skills and experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with complex data platforms, pipelines, distributed data processing, and data validation.
• Understanding of machine learning workflows, model evaluation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating machine learning models for interpretability, fairness, and bias.
• Familiarity with machine learning operations and model lifecycle practices.
• Experience monitoring production data pipelines and machine learning systems.
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance practices.
