Vehicle Safety Operator (AI)

Location: Onsite at the York Way office in London, United Kingdom. The role involves testing vehicles across the UK and requires weekend availability. Shifts are permanent AM or PM patterns: 06:30–15:30 or 14:30–23:30, Monday to Sunday, 40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Run on-road experiments and test autonomous vehicles across the UK.
• Monitor artificial intelligence systems and respond to hazards to maintain safe testing.
• Evaluate AI performance and provide feedback to research teams and engineers.
• Provide real-world driving examples to support AI training before public-road testing.
• Report safety and vehicle issues while supporting safety and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Full clean UK driving licence and at least eight years of driving experience, mainly in the UK.
• No blameworthy insurance claims during the past three years.
• Strong communication skills, empathy, adaptability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite and basic smartphone, touchscreen, connectivity, application, and troubleshooting skills.
• Availability for weekend work and permanent AM or PM shifts.
• Passing a health check, training, pre-employment checks, and ongoing drug and alcohol testing is required. Drug and alcohol testing takes place during the onsite interview.

Nice to have

• Experience in vehicle testing, autonomous vehicle environments, or technical demonstrations.
• Advanced driving qualifications such as ADI or Emergency Response Advanced Driver.
• Extensive knowledge of London and the Home Counties.
• Customer-facing or hospitality experience.
