US Client Accounting Lead

Location: Fully remote, available to US-based individuals; availability required five days a week during standard professional hours.

Salary: $70,000–$78,000 base salary per year, plus a quarterly bonus structure ranging from $2,000–$4,000 annually.

What you will do

• Manage full-charge bookkeeping and finance processes for 10–20 clients, including invoicing, bill pay, payroll, monthly close, sales tax, and year-end preparation.
• Coordinate service delivery by scheduling and delegating tasks, reviewing work, coaching support staff, and answering questions.
• Serve as the primary client contact and recommend process improvements.
• Review prospective clients’ books, identify errors, support accurate engagement pricing, and create onboarding plans.
• Delegate and manage cleanup and onboarding work after new clients sign.

Requirements

• 5+ years of remote, multi-client cloud accounting experience across multiple industries.
• Experience with process implementation and improvement, onboarding, cleanup, financial reporting, payroll, monthly close, and cash- and accrual-basis accounting.
• 4+ years of experience with QBO, BILL, Gusto, and other common cloud accounting software.
• Strong accrual accounting knowledge, including audit-ready balance-sheet schedules and data integration from external systems.
• Higher-education accounting or finance degree.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, coaching, mentoring, and client relationship skills.
