HPC Technician in Data Center Environment (AI)

Location: Madrid, Spain; on-site full-time. Travel and on-call interventions outside regular hours may be required.

What you will do

• Monitor servers, networks, power supplies, cooling systems, and other critical infrastructure in real time.
• Respond to incidents and alerts, perform first-level diagnostics, escalate anomalies, and support SLA compliance.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including rack and stack operations, cabling, and equipment replacement.
• Manage ITSM intervention tickets, equipment RMAs, physical asset inventories, deliveries, and shipments.
• Track rack power density and capacity, maintain operational documentation, and participate in audits and business continuity drills.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent in IT, networking, or electrical engineering, such as BTS SIO or CCNA.
• At least 2 years of experience in a data center or server room environment.
• Strong knowledge of servers, switches, racks, PDUs, UPSs, and physical infrastructure.
• Basic networking knowledge, including VLANs, optical fiber, and structured cabling; experience with MPO fiber cabling.
• Familiarity with Grafana and ticketing systems; Linux command-line knowledge is advantageous.
• English and Spanish required; availability for on-call duties, after-hours interventions, and travel required.

Nice to have

• Experience in a carrier-neutral or hyperscale data center.
• Proficiency in Linux command-line tools.
