Director of Security Engineering (AI)

Location: Stockholm or New York; 5 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Define security standards, strategy, roadmap, and investment priorities across the product, platform, and cloud estate.
• Partner with the CTO and engineering leadership on architecture, technical direction, emerging risks, and security priorities.
• Build secure defaults, paved paths, automation, and tools that enable engineering teams to ship securely.
• Embed security into the software lifecycle through reviews, standards, infrastructure as code, and automation.
• Lead secrets management, workload identity, Kubernetes hardening, automated detection and response, incident exercises, and investigations.
• Threat-model the multi-tenant AI platform, define safe boundaries for coding agents, and support enterprise customers with security evidence and discussions.

Requirements

• Experience leading and scaling a security engineering function through rapid product and team growth.
• Engineering background with strong architectural judgment and experience influencing technical direction at scale.
• Knowledge of application security, detection engineering, incident response, cloud security, and platform security.
• Ability to operate as a peer to engineering leadership and translate security risks into clear engineering priorities.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to influence without relying on mandates.
• Willingness to work in the Stockholm or New York office five days per week.

• Experience securing LLM-based or agentic products.
• Experience building security at a high-growth SaaS company.
• Depth in more than one security specialization.
• Experience with strict data confidentiality, data residency, or professional secrecy requirements.
• Experience representing security externally with enterprise customers, through research, or speaking.
