Transaction Monitoring Investigator (Blockchain Compliance): Investigating fiat and cryptocurrency transactions for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, and fraud risks with an accent on blockchain analytics, risk-based monitoring, and KYC/AML/CTF controls. Focus on developing transaction monitoring rules, analyzing unusual account activity, escalating high-risk cases, and improving compliance processes.

Location: Remote; work from anywhere. Preferred time zones: APAC or LATAM.

What you will do

Develop and implement risk-based transaction monitoring algorithms for AML, CTF, sanctions, fraud, and other compliance risks.
Analyze alerts involving fiat and cryptocurrency trades, deposits, withdrawals, and on-chain or off-chain activity.
Investigate unusual account behavior and documentation, assess risk exposure, and escalate urgent or high-risk cases.
Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports identifying money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions-related anomalies.
Adjust risk parameters and coordinate process improvements for KYC/AML/CTF and sanctions controls.
Collaborate with AML investigators, analysts, product teams, compliance leadership, and users to obtain information and resolve cases.

Requirements

Experience in compliance within the financial or cryptocurrency industry.
Understanding of AML, KYC, CTF, sanctions, and enhanced due diligence requirements.
Basic blockchain knowledge and experience with a blockchain analytics or transaction monitoring tool such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, or TRM.
University degree; CAMS or CBP designation is relevant to the role.
Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, decision-making, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Ability to understand documentation in different languages and formats, with proficient IT and organizational skills.
