Senior Section Manager, Automation (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: North Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite role.

Salary: USD 124,500–236,500 per year

What you will do

• Set and manage automation department goals, budgets, financial targets, and operational objectives.
• Lead automation strategy and delivery for plant, facility, capital, and manufacturing expansion projects.
• Direct automation resources, project engineering personnel, contractors, hiring, performance management, and talent development.
• Develop capital plans, expenditure requests, cost estimates, project schedules, lifecycle plans, and energy sustainability programs.
• Manage design, construction, commissioning, qualification, technical documentation, CAD repositories, and project compliance.
• Assess design and operational risks, implement fallback strategies, and ensure compliance with policies, EHS requirements, and quality expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
• 10+ years of significant engineering or operational experience is desired.
• Business acumen and demonstrated leadership experience in high-performance environments.
• DeltaV experience required.
• Strong engineering leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and experience with large-scale manufacturing expansions and builds.
• Experience with financial systems, fiscal control, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SAP, and complex technical problem-solving.
