Senior Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $190,000–$265,000 per year, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Architect, operate, and evolve the infrastructure, services, and tooling that support products and engineering teams.
• Improve development, testing, deployment, and operations processes to increase developer velocity.
• Scale compute, databases, queues, caching, and edge systems as products and customer usage grow.
• Re-architect the backend for higher update volume and traffic, including multi-cloud and customer-managed environments.
• Improve observability, incident response, and operational automation while reducing on-call toil.
• Review designs, establish technical standards, mentor engineers, and build AI-first developer tools and APIs for agent-driven traffic.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
• Deep experience with cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, distributed systems, CI/CD, observability, and large-scale production software.
• Experience leading critical infrastructure projects from architecture through production.
• Ability to balance reliability, developer velocity, performance, security, and cost.
• Comfort working across infrastructure and application code, with experience mentoring engineers and improving team practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, MongoDB, Postgres, Redis, or Node.js.
