Director, Safety Scientist Lead - General Medicine

Location: Tarrytown, New York or Warren, New Jersey, United States; 4 days per week onsite; 25% travel may be required

Salary: $205,000–$341,600 annually

What you will do

• Lead General Medicine safety data processing, submission creation, documentation, safety surveillance, signal management, and aggregate reporting.
• Coordinate signal detection and management activities, including Safety Monitoring Teams, Safety Surveillance Plans, and Signal Evaluation Reports.
• Develop standardized practices, processes, templates, SOPs, monitoring tools, and training programs across Safety Sciences.
• Analyze aggregate safety data to identify emerging safety issues and patterns.
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery of benefit-risk assessments and safety content for periodic reports and portfolio documents.
• Build, coach, and scale a high-performing team while driving succession planning and leadership development.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare.
• 12+ years of pharmacovigilance experience, preferably in Safety Sciences and General Medicine.
• Strong ability to optimize Safety operations, drive consistency, and ensure compliant execution.
• Leadership, communication, organizational, workload planning, and multi-project management skills.
• Experience overseeing operations in a global patient safety organization is preferred.
• Experience in matrixed leadership, people management, and AI technologies is preferred.
