TL;DR
Engineer (Data Visualization Platform) (Python/SQL/BI): Building and maintaining internal reporting applications, scalable research frameworks, and interactive data visualizations for trading and technology teams with an accent on data access, dashboard infrastructure, and complex datasets. Focus on optimizing query performance, leading migrations across tools and data sources, and translating stakeholder requirements into reliable analytics solutions.
Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid workplace with regular attendance during standard business hours and occasional on-site presence before the start of business.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain internal reporting applications and analytics solutions.
- Build scalable frameworks for technical traders, quants, and developers to conduct research and create visualizations.
- Optimize data access and query performance for reporting and visualization workloads.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver decision-support solutions.
- Support and enhance BI infrastructure, including Looker, Plotly Dash, and related platforms.
- Lead migrations as tools, libraries, and data sources are upgraded, while evaluating emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Strong Python development experience in data analytics, reporting, and visualization.
- Experience building reporting applications and business intelligence solutions.
- Proficiency with Jupyter Notebooks and visualization libraries such as Plotly.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and relational databases.
- Experience with data modeling, dashboard design, reporting best practices, and BI administration.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate insights across technical and business teams.
