Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering – Launch Team Readiness, West (Drone Operations)

Location: US Remote; travel of 50–60% is required for customer engagements, field activities, deployments, team onsites, and company events.

Annual base salary: $187,000–$220,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

Autonomous drone company developing AI-powered hardware and software for utility inspection, public safety, national security, and other aerial mobility applications.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, onboard, coach, and retain Readiness Specialists supporting accounts across the western region.
• Own readiness portfolio health, launch schedules, site readiness, policy approvals, deployment, training, and launch criteria.
• Identify at-risk launches, resolve blockers, escalate issues, and directly manage complex or recovering launches.
• Develop readiness playbooks, launch checklists, site standards, flight readiness criteria, documentation, and handoff requirements.
• Coordinate with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Deployment Engineering, Legal and Policy, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.
• Ensure clean post-launch handoffs and represent customer needs in product and engineering decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in customer-facing operations, deployment, implementation, or project delivery, including work with public safety customers.
• 1+ year leading a team, formally or through hiring and mentorship responsibilities.
• Experience managing complex cross-functional initiatives, timelines, dependencies, competing priorities, and readiness gates.
• Familiarity with Drone as First Responder concepts of operation and dock-based remote operations.
• Ability to travel 50–60% of the time and lift up to 60 lbs unaided.
• FAA Part 107 certification is strongly encouraged within the first 60 days and required for certain positions.

Nice to have

• Public safety service or experience establishing a Drone as First Responder program.
• Experience with public approval processes, including council or board authorization, public comment, privacy, and data retention policies.
• Experience with dock-based, remote, BVLOS, site survey, RF, LTE, and fixed-installation network readiness operations.
• Experience scaling a customer onboarding or implementation function.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce, Palantir, Databricks, or equivalent tools.
