Senior Scientist Physico-Chemical Quality Control (Biologics/Pharmaceutical QC): Performing physico-chemical testing of biologics, large molecules, related entities, and small molecules in a cGMP laboratory with an accent on chromatographic methods, documentation, and audit readiness. Focus on troubleshooting laboratory equipment, overseeing instrument qualification, improving laboratory processes, and training scientists in analytical methods.
Location: Fully site-based in Basel Stücki, Switzerland. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

What you will do
- Perform routine physico-chemical testing for biologics, large molecules, related entities, and small molecules under cGMP and applicable SOPs.
- Execute, review, and approve laboratory operations such as mobile-phase preparation and calibration of pH meters and balances.
- Investigate laboratory equipment issues, propose mitigation measures, and oversee equipment maintenance and requalification as Instrument Responsible Person.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, inventory, consumables, and 6S standards while supporting customer and regulatory audits.
- Participate in laboratory optimization and process-improvement initiatives and support the drafting and updating of instrument SOPs.
- Train laboratory staff on compendial, purity, identity, and content methods and onboard new Scientists and Senior Scientists.
Requirements
- Training as a laboratory technician or a qualification such as EFZ, HF, CTA, BTA, PTA, BSc, or MSc.
- At least five years of experience in analytical testing within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or chemical industry.
- Experience in physico-chemical analytics in a cGMP-regulated environment, including scientific result interpretation, reporting, and ALCOA++ GDocP documentation.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Good communication skills, independent working ability, and a proactive, dedicated approach.
Nice to have
- Experience with Empower, electronic laboratory journals, or LIMS systems.
- Knowledge of additional languages.
