AI Governance Manager

Salary range for the tracked AI governance cohort: $180,000–$320,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and evolve AI governance frameworks, policies, and controls covering model transparency, bias assessment, data lineage, and monitoring.
• Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to embed governance into development workflows and support regulatory compliance.
• Lead cross-functional governance working groups and translate legal, risk, and compliance requirements into implementation roadmaps.
• Build AI model inventories and audit trails, including baselines for performance, drift, and fairness.
• Deliver governance training and best-practice guidance to engineers, data scientists, and product managers.
• Monitor regulatory developments, recommend policy updates, and establish dashboards for governance maturity and audit readiness.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in AI governance, compliance, risk management, or audit, preferably in regulated environments.
• Ability to translate technical AI/ML concepts into clear governance frameworks for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building and leading governance or compliance programs and influencing cross-functional teams.
• Working familiarity with model bias, transparency, data quality, security, drift, NIST AI RMF, the EU AI Act, and industry-specific guidance.
• Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to balance governance rigor, organizational feasibility, and speed.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presentations of governance updates and risk assessments to senior leadership.
